October 2020 TBR

It’s October! My favorite month because it contains my favorite holiday (and really the only one I celebrate). Halloween!

Here’s to a month of Hocus Pocus! A month of spooky shit! A month to celebrate the macabre without being called weird or goth or whatever!

Here’s to a month of joyous weird before the all-encompassing might of Christianity descends upon us as Christmas Season and Christian defensiveness drops en masse November 1st to smother us all.*

Sorry that got a little grim for a moment.

Halloween!!!

And to celebrate most of my books are…what I was planning on reading anyway. Lots of ARCs, since I requested a little bit too many releasing in October, but there are so many amazing things coming out this month that I could not resist.

Fingers crossed I can get to them all in time, because they all look so fantastic! (and they all release before October 13th…*skates off into a pit of despair*)

What are you looking forward to reading this month?

*You do you. Practice your religion, honor your faith, but please, please, please please consider how smothered some feel during this time, and how tone deaf cries of “but [white] Christians are under attack!” comes, particularly when non-Christian Americans face Christmas everything everywhere for three months straight, and particularly while there are children in cages, Muslims receiving death threats and being deported, and Black people murdered by police for the crime of existing while Black.
