Top Ten Tuesday: Book Titles as Bands

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s theme is book titles as bands. As a non-music aficionado, I don’t follow a lot of new music, mostly because I like listening to Broadway soundtracks through Pandora and whatever is on my generic Pandora playlists.

So there are forthcoming books that I think—in my entirely nonexpert opinion—would make great band titles.

Clearly, there is no rhyme or reason for why I chose these as potential band names, except in some cases I was like, oooooh that would be cool (in the case of The Last Stargazers, The Dark Tide and These Violent Delights), or hmm this would make a decent group name (Six Angry Girls, Cemetery Boys, The Once and Future Witches), or hehe these would be funny-ish (Clap When You Land, Loathe at First Sight, This is All Your Fault). And of course, Cinderella is Dead would be an all trans woman heavy metal group bent on smashing the patriarchy and white feminism—and they would be fantastic.

What book titles do you think would make great band names?

  1. Six Angry Girls and Cemetery Boys are awesome names. I’d listen to them 😀 I’ve seen a few of these posts now and I keep trying to guess the genres for the names. I can imagine Six Angry Girls being a female punk rock band… what do you think? Awesome post Laurel! Jen
